elections 2016: Datena will run for mayor of São Paulo

The presenter of Rede Bandeirantes José Luiz Datena will be candidate for mayor of São Paulo in elections 2016. The announcement was made last night by the Progressive Party (PP).

Datena used social networks to confirm the decision. by Twitter, the presenter posted a picture next to the state president of the PP, Congressman Guilherme Mussi and state deputy delegate Olim (PP) – tipped to be the vice on the plate.

Officially, Datena will only be considered a candidate next year, When it happens the party conventions.

The entrance of the presenter in the race creates difficulty for other acronyms such as PT, who will try to re-elect Fernando Haddad, e or PRB, which should release the deputy's name Celso Russomanno.

Just over a year, Datena stated in his "Urgent Brazil" program that would never be a candidate for public office. Disgusted with the elderly images in deplorable conditions in a city hospital, he said “That's why I do not want and will never be political. For I have no stomach. I would be ashamed to see a problem and can not solve”.

In 2012, in an interview with journalist Mauricio Stycer, the UOL, Datena said he considered “unfair” a communicator use his public image to win votes in politics. “I'm a crap as administrator”, he said. “I can comment on a subject well, but it would be a bad political, I would not have any ability to be a good politician”.
