The Popular Housing Seminar which will take place on Saturday (24/10), at 9 am, count as speaker of the National Secretary of the Ministry of Housing Cities, Inês Magalhães, who is a sociologist specialized in planning and management. The debate promoted by Mr José Ricardo Wendling and Sinésio Campos; sheriffs in Manaus, Waldemir Jose, Professor Bibiano and Rosi Matos; and the Municipal EN still have as ministering the master in Geosciences from the University of Campinas and superintendent of the Mineral Resources Research Company (CPRM), Marco Oliveira.
According to research conducted by the Ministry of Cities 2015, Manaus is at the top of the housing deficit, considering the figures for the total number of households in capital. The capital of Amazonas has the deficit 22,9%, while most populous capital, like São Paulo (11,8 millons of citizens) and Rio de Janeiro (6,4 millions), they have indices, respectively, from 13,3% e 10,3%.
This study considered Manaus deficit in housing due to the following conditions: 13.131 households are considered poor (rustic or improvised); in others 26.801, the rent is over 30% of total household income; also evidenced, in the study, what 10.756 households are rented and have more than three people using the same room (excessive compaction).
José Ricardo pointed out that, despite this reality, the last four years, the federal government has done its part and, through agreements, has shipped 14.335 affordable housing in the Amazon and other 30.384 They are under construction. "We could have delivered more homes. But lack of projects. The Minha Casa, My Life allowed the conquest of one of the greatest dreams of Brazilians: home ownership. It is the federal government program that has brought dignity and guarantee access to the basic right to housing low-income people. All deserve decent housing ", He exposed the deputy.
He stressed that the movements that discuss housing in the state say the greatest obstacle for new projects is in the Manaus City Hall and remember that there are eight projects, not approximate value of R $ 30 million each, which can still be obtained for the capital. "But we have positive examples, as the Women's Movement for House Orchids (MMMO), it is building in the Santa Etelvina neighborhood about 600 popular houses with funds from the 'Minha Casa, My Life Entities. This is the fifth theme of the project seminar "Building A New Manaus", which aims to form a government program from discussions with experts and the public about the main issues of the city. At the end of the discussions, a group is assigned to work the theme.
