Among young people, Netflix is ​​already more popular than traditional TV channels

No UK, an annual survey found that children and adolescents already prefer to spend more time consuming content on demand over the Internet than watching conventional TV programming. It was the first time that this role reversal appears in Childwise Monitor, according to the BBC. The consultant responsible for the study described the event as a "milestone".

Compared to the previous year, the amount of young people who have grown tablets 50% and the study shows that 60% of them attends the TV programming via mobile. However, 38% them use the TV itself to access materials on demand – and Netflix was more popular than any TV channel.

Half of the respondents consume content virtual video store, compared to rates 47% for ITV1 and 46% for BBC1, the two most popular UK channels.

The study is conducted annually by Childwise since the late 1990. For this edition were more respondents 2 thousand people from 5 e 17 years.
