snapchat bate 8 billion daily video views and slope on Facebook

A month after reporting that reached the mark of 7 billion video views per day, Snapchat increased the number to 8 billion. The information has not yet been made public, but heard during a Morgan Stanley conference held last Wednesday and passed along to the staff of Re / code.

The data show two interesting things. The first is that Snapchat is increasing its number of daily views at an accelerated rate, because in November the network said it had reached the 6 billion and just two months later had to revise the number upward 1 billion.

Another thing to note is that the network pulled on Facebook, which in November said it had reached the same 8 billion. curiously, in January, when it released new information on its product chain (Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger), Mark Zuckerberg stopped talking about the view count of Facebook videos, then officially the social network is tied with Snapchat.

This leaves even more interesting when one takes into account that, while Snapchat get those numbers having only 100 million users, Facebook has 1,59 billion.

On Wednesday conference, CEO of Snapchat, Evan Spiegel, also reported that these 100 millions of people are spending on average 30 minutes per day on the platform, and that the user base is growing among Internet users over 25 years – Something new, as Snapchat has always been considered a social networking teens.
