Abin confirms threat of the Islamic State in Brazil

A member of the terrorist organization Daesh (Arabic name of the group that calls itself Islamic State) posted on his personal Twitter account a threat to Brazil.

The message "Brazil, you are our next target "was posted in November last year, soon after the attacks that left 129 dead and dozens injured, in France, but only on Wednesday (13) the Brazilian Intelligence Agency (what) confirmed the authenticity of the profile and message.

Sallaberry not only revealed that the intelligence agency had confirmed the authenticity of the threat issued by the French Maxime Hauchard, as also reported that the likelihood of Brazil being the target of terrorist attacks increased in recent months, because of events in other countries and the increase in the number of Brazilians who have adhered to the ideology of Daesh.

The report did not obtain information about links between Brazil and the terrorist group.

According to the Counterterrorism Director of Abin, the agency has taken action to prevent possible terrorist attacks, the exchange of information with foreign services, the training of professionals in strategic sectors and works with member agencies of the Brazilian Intelligence System, in particular with the public security and defense axis.
