ALE approves project that provides ICMS exemption to offset state debt

Exemption will be granted to Amazonas Energia to compensate for water distribution costs.

The Amazonas Legislative Assembly (OF-AM) approved on Wednesday (27) the bill authorizing the State Government to relieve some R $ 16 million in tax on the Products and Services Circulation (ICMS) the electric utility, to compensate for water distribution costs. One of the reasons, according to the Executive Secretary of the Treasury, Jorge Jatahy, It is that water distribution costs are passed on to the population. Nine other proposals were approved in the House.

A proposal, approved by a majority vote of deputies, It provides that the electricity supplier shall grant to the concessionaire of the water distribution service, Manaus Environmental, off the same amount of tax exempted. The discount will be gradual to 31 December 2018, and will serve to balance the State's debts to Manaus Environmental contracted until January this year.

Autonomous Social Service

Another project approved in the ALE-AM was the No. 80/2016 promoting adjustments in the structure of the Autonomous Service called the Cultural Development Agency (AACD) "To ensure the smooth progress of the agency's activities", adapting the structure to the new economic reality of the State.
