PF triggers operation to investigate fraud in R $ contracts 2 with a

Near 200 Federal Police officers meet 67 warrants.

Federal police broke out on Tuesday an operation to investigate the diversion of federal funds through highway paving, construction and services in the areas of computer and graphic. The contracts under investigation involve more than 2 billion reais. The second phase of Operation Lama Asphalt, named Lama Farms, occurs in Mato Grosso do Sul states, São Paulo and Paraná.

Near 200 federal police, with the support of the Comptroller General and the Internal Revenue Service, comply 67 warrants, and 28 search and seizure, Fifteen temporary prison and 24 Hijacking investigated goods. The measures are being fulfilled in the cities of Campo Grande (MS), Black river (MS), Curitiba (PR), Maringa (PR), Presidente Prudente (SP) and Tanabi (SP).

According to the PF, in the first phase of operation, which began in 2013, it was found the existence of a group that diverted public recusos through the works contracted with overbilling government. In this second step, investigations revolve around the “strong evidence” money laundering practice due to the diversion of federal public funds and accepting bribes using assets on behalf of third parties and cash withdrawals, informed the institution.

Prisoners in this second phase will be submitted to the Superintendency of PF in Campo Grande, as well as the material objects of the searches and seizures.

The Mud Farms name refers to procedures used by investigated the acquisition of farms with public funds diverted from public works contracts, fraud in bidding and receiving bribes, also resulting in money laundering crimes.
