The payment of the thirteenth salary in the Amazon will be paid in three installments, as he announced the state governor, Jose Melo, in this Monday (27). The measure is due to the drop in state revenues, reflection of the economic crisis the country.

According to Melo, 30% the 13th will be paid in July, 20% in September and the rest in December.

“How he did not yield to pay all now, we split. I mean that we and only another state, I will not name so as not to be rude to others, Lets do this. I mean we, as rulers, we are like that father who had salary x and lost that salary, but it was back and found a lower salary. We are sharing the bread for the state to continue”, the governor said in an interview with Radio Amazon.

The tax revenue of the first quarter fell R $ 128 million in Amazonas state compared to 2015, according to data from the State Department of Finance (Sefaz-AM). The reason would be the consequences of the economic downturn, with falling industrial production and a drop in Tax Goods and Services (ICMS).

Until April, Amazon totaled R $ 2.582 billion collected.

According to Sefaz-AM, the economic crisis is the main factor in the decline of tax revenue. One consequence is the loss of the main source of state revenue, o ICMS, what, January-April, decreases 5,3%.
