Amazon is the largest in Latin America craft fair

The fair takes place in the period 7 a 17 July, in Pernambuco.

The Amazonas State Government, through the Secretariat of State for Labour (SETRAB) Amazon and Crafts State Coordination, will show the art produced in the state during the 17th National Fair of Crafts Business (FENARTE), that happens 7 a 17 July, in Olinda Convention Center - Pernambuco. It is the largest craft fair in Latin America with more than three thousand exhibitors from all over Brazil. Last year, Fair gathered 370 thousand paying.

The department selected, through public call notice, craftsmen and state manual workers to participate in the occupation of a public space event, for the purpose of dissemination and marketing of Amazonas crafts. According to that established the edict, those selected will bear their own costs tickets, transfer and power throughout the Fair.

Among the criteria taken into account for the selection was the reference to popular culture, creativity, own language (style recognized as a form of expression copyright), tradition, innovation and product presentation.

The craftsman Antonio Jose Ferreira de Vasconcelos was one of the selected. "Today I am honored to participate in major events with my work, seeing my products with the help of the State Coordination of Amazonas Crafts ", explains the craftsman.
"Over time the sales were increasing and now have two people who help me to produce", explains Antonio José, which produces bio-jewelry made of material drawn from nature, as seeds, shells, woods, employing or precious metals like gold and silver.
