Eletrobras's shareholders decided today (22) disapprove the extension of the concessions group of six distribution companies, which are in the North and Northeast. Thereby, the Piaui Energy Company distributors (Cepisa), Companhia Energetica de Alagoas (Cancelled), Acre Electricity Company (Eletroacre), Rondonia Power Plants (Ceron), Boa Vista Energia and Amazonas Distribuidora de Energia should be privatized to 31 December 2017.
According to the Decision, taken at an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, to transfer to the new controller, distributors must receive directly from the federal government or through fare all resources and compensation needed to operate, maintain and make investments that are related to public services, without any injection of funds by Eletrobras.
The meeting also approved the name of Wilson Ferreira Junior executive to chair Eletrobras and new members of the Board of directors.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy ensures that there will be no decrease in the quality of services because, during the temporary provision of service, the government will set conditions for distribution companies can provide the service with continuity and adequacy.
