The Federal Police (PF) arrested in the early hours of this Saturday (2) businessman Fernando Cavendish, former owner of construction company Delta Construction, as soon as he landed at Tom Jobim International Airport, in the river. Cavendish was in Europe and had decreed prison on Thursday (30), during Operation Marauder, the arrest of four people accused of participating in corruption and money laundering scheme through public works, involving the construction.

This Friday (1º), Judge Antonio Ivan Athié, the Federal Regional Court of the 2nd Region, granted house arrest to Cavendish and five arrested in the operation. The decision of the magistrate was taken on appeal and reversed the remand, determined by the judge Marcelo Bretas, 7th Federal Criminal Court of Rio de Janeiro.

Athié welcomed habeas corpus Cavendish defense. "The decision of the magistrate reversed the remand under house arrest until regular occupation is proven. The defense also reiterated that, aware of the legality of their acts, Fernando Cavendish always met the requests of the police authority and will continue to do in the police investigation”, He highlighted the defense Cavendish.

The actions of the day 30, the businessman was not found at home, Leblon, Southern Rio. He left the country on the last day 22 to Europe.
