FVS investigates cases of meningitis in Humaita, no AM

The Foundation for Health Surveillance (FVS), reported on Friday (15) which is investigating two reported cases of meningitis in the city of Humaita, a 590 Km from Manaus.

The reported cases are of two men from the mines, the first of Humaita and the second in Porto Velho. Both are hospitalized in Porto Velho hospital.

According to the CEO of FVS, Bernardino Albuquerque, the Municipal Health Department of Humaita, by epidemiological surveillance, We have performed the prophylaxis of service of family contactantes.

“The team Semsa of Humaita is offset to the mining in rural municipality, to check for new cases and to make preventive prophylaxis for the miners who were in contact with patients”, He informed by advice.

The FVS also said it is sending medicine to Semsa, in order to strengthen the stock of the municipality.
