The Federal Police broke out this morning (2) the 33th stage of Operation Lava Jato, which focuses on irregularities committed by the construction company Queiroz Galvao, the third volume of contracts with Petrobras.
The goal of this phase, called Peg Solitaire, to investigate contracts for works in the Petrochemical Complex of Rio de Janeiro and the refinery Abreu e Lima (ON), Vale do Paraíba (SP), Alves Landulpho (BA) and Duque de Caxias (RJ).
According to PF, the construction was part of the so-called "contractors cartel", with systematic proprina payments to employees and directors of Petrobras, as well as political parties.
The Lava Jet task force also reported to have identified clear indication that construction company executives made cash payments to hinder the progress of the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) Petrobras in the Senate, in 2009.
In April, former Senator Gim Argello was arrested in the 28th stage of Lava Jato. He was vice president of CPI Petrobras and was accused of receiving cash payments to avoid the convening of the committee executive. He closed tipoff according awarded the Justice few days after his arrest.
Near 150 police meet two probation warrants, a temporary detention, six forceful and 23 search and seizure. The court orders are fulfilled in São Paulo, in Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Goias, Pernambuco and Minas Gerais.
