Industrial production increased for the fourth consecutive month, with high 1,1%nevertheless, production was down 6% in comparison with June of last year.
Brazilian industrial production grew 1,1% from May to June. According to the Monthly Industrial Survey - Physical Production (PIM-PF), released today (2) the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), this is the fourth consecutive increase of the indicator in this type of comparison.
nevertheless, production was down 6% in comparison with June of last year, marking the 28 th consecutive negative rate in this comparison. The Brazilian industry also accumulates falls 9,1% in 2016 e 9,8% period not 12 months.
From May to June, the four major economic categories had high, especially capital goods, this is, machinery and equipment, with growth 2,1%. The other categories were the following growth rates: goods of semi- and non-durable (1,2%), durable goods (1,1%) and intermediate goods, this is, industrialized inputs to the productive sector (0,5%).
Although this type of comparison, 18 the 24 industrial activities had high production. The main highlights came from automotive vehicles (8,4%), perfumery, cleaning products and toiletries (4,7%), metallurgy (4,7%), making clothing items (9,8%), leather goods and footwear (10,8%), pharmaceutical products (4,4%) and rubber and plastics products (2,4%).
On the other hand, six industrial activities had decrease in the production in May passage for June, with highlights for food products (-0,7%), drinks (-2,6%), oil products and biofuels (-0,6%) and paper products (-2%).
