In order to sensitize the student community and the general population on the rights of persons with disabilities in the educational inclusion process, the Government of Amazonas, through the State Secretariat for Education and Teaching Quality (SEDUC), starts Person National Week with Disabilities.
As part of the programs of the event, SEDUC promote, on Tuesday (23), the seminar "Special Education: way that is inclusive schools in the Amazon ". The event will be directed to teachers of public schools who work with special education. The seminar will take place from 14h, in the auditorium of the Federal Institute Education, Amazon Science and Technology (Ifam), located on Avenida Sete de Setembro, nº1975, Center.
On the same occasion, educators have access to lectures "High skills and giftedness" and "Professional Education and Inclusion of People with Disabilities: the experience of IFAM ", taught, respectively, by Professor Dr. Andrezza Belota and by Professor Dr. Dalmir Pacheco.

The SEDUC has worked, also, with the inclusion of special students in conventional schools, favoring their greatest role in society. Held by Special Educational Service Management, It has specific care schools for students with special needs, Augusto Carneiro in schools (for deaf students); Joana Rodrigues (for blind students and low vision); Diofanto Vieira (for students with intellectual disabilities and Down syndrome) and Manoel Marcal (for students with autism and multiple disabilities).
currently, SEDUC is responsible for serving 1.725 students in public schools of formal education and specific of capital, e 2.275 students in educational units in the state.
In addition to the schedules of the Individual National Week with Disabilities directed at educators from public schools, state schools in the capital and the interior will make individual activities with students, parents and community, in order to sensitize them on the importance of national action.
