Federal police complies with court orders in the 34th stage of Lava Jato

The operation has the name of 'The X-Files’ and it is being investigated by Petrobras to hire companies to build two platforms, for oil exploration in the pre-salt layer.

The Federal Police (PF), with support from the Internal Revenue Service, set off this morning (22), 34th phase of Operation Lava Jato, called X-Files. Police teams are meeting 49 court orders, and 33 search and seizure warrants, eight warrants for temporary arrest eight forceful warrants, when the person is taken to police station, to testify and, then, it is released.

At this stage of Lava jet are investigated facts related to hiring by Petrobras companies for the construction of two platforms (P-67 e P-70) for oil exploration in the pre-salt layer.

“Using expedients already revealed in the midst of Operation Lava Jato, fraud bidding process, corruption of public officials and resource transfers to agents and political parties responsible for indications of important positions in the state, companies have joined in a consortium for the construction contracts of the two platforms even though they possessed experience, structure or preparation for both”, says the note PF.

Corruption, fraud in public tenders, criminal association and money laundering

According to police, during the investigations it was found that even, in the year of 2012, a former finance minister would have acted directly next to the command of one of the companies to negotiate the transfer of funds for payment of political party campaign debt situation. These values ​​have to target people already investigated in the operation and who worked in the marketing and advertising of the same party political campaigns. “practices are cleared, among other crimes, corruption, fraud in public tenders, criminal association and money laundering”.

Approximately 180 federal police and 30 Tax auditors are serving warrants in cities in the states of São Paulo, from Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, of Minas Gerais, Bahia and the Federal District.

The name X-Files since the operation is a reference to one of the investigated business groups and whose brand placement and repetition of the "X" in the names of members of their corporate business conglomerate.
