Faced with alarming numbers of the increase in obesity in all age groups of the population manauara, Councilman Ednailson Rozenha (PSDB) presented at City Hall of Manaus (CMM), an indication to the Manaus City Hall requesting the creation of a program for the monitoring and prevention of obesity in children and adolescents through the Municipal Education Network.

The national average of obese population is 17%. Thinking about that, parliamentary drafted the proposal with the aim of contributing to public policies that help in reducing the numbers.
According to the Association of Amazon Obese (Assoam), among children, the obesity rate reaches 30%. "This clearly means that the future of our children and adolescents are committed and we as elected representatives of the people need to present measures to minimize these problems. The creation of a municipal program in schools is a major step in changing this culture of obesity ", said Rozenha.
According to the councilman's proposal, the program will combat obesity and bring awareness on the subject, through talks with teachers, doctors and other professionals such as nutritionists, in addition to encouraging physical activity and good nutrition.
The statement calls for the presence of a nutritionist in municipal schools to analyze and oversee the sale of food in canteens and school meals. The program will be conducted periodically in all schools Semed, obeying the schedule to be set by the Secretariat, if heeded the proposal.
