Cunha asks to change two defense witnesses in the prosecution of Lava Jato

The first hearings of Eduardo Cunha defense witnesses are scheduled to take place on 23 e 24 from November.

The Paraná Federal Justice received from the lawyers of the former president of the Chamber of Deputies, Eduardo Cunha (PMDB-RJ), request to change two defense witnesses in the prosecution of Operation Lava Jato. The petition was filed in the night this Friday (11).

Lawyers request the inclusion of the former Minister of Finance, Guido Mantega, who was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrobras, and the mayor of Rio de Janeiro Eduardo da Costa Paes. The reason is the difficulty in locating witnesses initially enrolled, the former manager of Petrobras, Pedro Augusto Cortes Xavier Bastos, and former deputy and mayor, João Paulo Cunha.

The first hearings of Eduardo Cunha defense witnesses are scheduled to take place on 23 e 24 from November, when they will be heard, among other witnesses, the rancher José Carlos da Costa Marques Bumlai, former senator Amaral Gomez Delcídio, former director Nestor Cervero Cuñat Petrobras and lobbyist Hamylton Padilha. Former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva to give evidence next day 30. The prosecution witnesses indicated by federal prosecutors are former manager of Petrobras Eduardo Musa and the state auditor Rafael de Castro Silva.
