Senate approves bill to repeal decision Anac on baggage
For the new rule is finally abolished the matter will need to be approved by the House of Representatives.
The full Senate approved on Wednesday (14) legislative draft decree repealing the resolution of the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) authorizing airlines to charge passengers for baggage.
The resolution states that Anac, from 14 March of next year companies will no longer be required to offer a minimum baggage allowance - which is currently 23 kg (kg) for domestic travel and two bags of 32 kg for international travel. Thereby, companies can fully charge for luggage.
The legislative decree project to reverse the agency's decision was introduced by Senator Humberto Costa (PT-PE) and approved in symbolic vote on the floor of the House. For the new rule is finally abolished, However, the matter will need to be approved by the House of Representatives.
