Joshua Neto requires federal prison to be built in Rio Preto da Eva

The state deputy Joshua Neto (PSD) it would submit an application to the Government of Amazonas requesting that the federal prison that is scheduled for the State, It is built in Rio Preto city Eva (a 57 kilometers from Manaus). In early January, President Michel Temer released R $ 800 million for the construction of a prison in each state of the country. States were in charge to indicate the places where will be built the prisons.

According to the deputy, the application meets a request from the mayor himself of Rio Preto da Eva, Anderson Sousa (PROS), who believes that the construction of a prison facility in the rural municipality is another opportunity to generate employment and income in the city.

According to Anderson, the city's economy is based on tourism, crafts and rural production, and the prison would be an alternative employment for the population, in addition to moving the municipal services sector, as trade and food. "We need to generate jobs and income here in Rio Preto. Put the city in development tracks again. People need to be able to provide sustenance for their families ", he said.

Mr Joshua Neto recalled that two other prisons are planned to be built in the cities of Parintins and Manacapuru, through funds from the National Penitentiary Fund (Funpen). The state will receive the Fund R $ 50 million for investment in prisons, closer to R $ 38 million will be allocated to the construction of two new prisons.
