More of 100 fish farmers of Rio Preto da Eva (a 57 kilometers from Manaus) They participated last Saturday, 19 of February, the 1st Meeting of fish farming in the region. Promoted by the municipal council in partnership with the Government of Amazonas, System through Sepror – Execution, Adaf, Know and ADS -, the meeting served, also, to introduce fish farm investment proposals for the sector within the New Economic Environment Matrix.
The municipality, according to the Executive Secretary of Fisheries and Aquaculture of Sepa, Tomás Sanches, It is contemplated to building 150 hectares of ponds excavated. Investments follow the proposal of the Government of the Amazon within the Economic Matrix whose flagship, in the city, boost fish production.
“Rio Preto da Eva is pointed in the country and in the Amazon as one of the largest fish producers. The government's proposal is to work with the potential of municipalities leveraging the local economy. So the investments for this sector are integrated into a working partnership with the local government”, Thomas highlighted.
Other areas will also be strengthened, according to Thomas, including the Technical Assistance (Ater), by IDAM, the necessary guidance so that producers can hold any kind of funding is by the People's Bank or the Social Promotion Fund (FPS) and other means to facilitate and strengthen the work of the field.
In addition to the announcement of investments, the meeting discussed three important points for the sector: and a Proposta para Piscicultura Familiar de RPE, with the head of municipal department, Environmental Licensing in Family Fish farming and the cost of production in fish farming Family.
Production – Rio Preto da Eva annually produces over 8 tons of fish moving around R $ 50 millions. The production area in the municipality reaches 500 hectares. As the largest producer of fish in state, the city supplies the market of the municipalities of the metropolitan region of Manaus comprising: Autazes, Careiro, Lowland Careiro, Iranduba, Itacoatiara, Itapiranga, Manacapuru, Manaquiri, President Figueiredo and Novo Airão. It is the capital of Amazonas the largest consumer of the product with approximately 50 tons.
The producer – For or fish farmer, Johames Guimarães, who attended the meeting, investment came at a good time. “This support will encourage fish farmers to make new tanks and to produce more fish. We can put the baby fish donated by the Government of Amazonas in new areas further increasing our productivity, but what motivates us even more to know that we have the technical monitoring of Idam”, commented.
Johames owns a property located on the Old Road, km 96, Guima known as Site. nonlocal, three tanks are excavated each with two hectares. The species created are: tambaqui, arapaima and curumim. Its average production of tambaqui is three tons every three months. Their demand for production supplies trade in the metropolitan region of Manaus and industrial kitchens.
