Number of confirmed cases of yellow fever in the country rises to 189

The confirmed cases of yellow fever have risen to 189 no Country, with 68 deaths, according to updated report on Monday (6), by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health of Minas Gerais. The state is the most affected by the disease, with 167 confirmations and 59 deaths – the most affected cities are Caratinga (20 confirmed) and Litany (22).

There are still investigating cases in the Holy Spirit, Sao Paulo, Bahia and Tocantins.

The Ministry of Health reported that, from the beginning of the year, is sending extra doses of vaccine against yellow fever to the States with suspected cases of the disease, and other bordering these areas. Total, 9,3 million extra doses were sent to 5 States.

The folder is also releasing R $ 40 million to the municipalities most affected by yellow fever in Brazil. Of this total, R$ 13,8 million will be allocated to 256 municipalities in five states, as an incentive to vaccination of the population against disease.
