Carnival programming in Manaus will extend to 12 March

From or day 10 of February, street blocks and bands perform in the capital of Amazonas. Near 100 proposals for presentations of street blocks and local bands were approved.

Carnival officially begins only on 25 of February. The revelry which began at the beginning of this month, will extend until March. From or day 10 of February, street blocks and bands perform in the capital of Amazonas. The carnival program will extend until the day 12 March.

According to Manauscult, organizing body of the carnival in the city, 100 proposals for presentations of street blocks and local bands were approved. Among the blocks, are the bands Jangadeiro, the Difusora, do Jaraqui, da Bica, Boulevard and Bhaixa of Hégua, traditional in the city.

"We consider the most traditional bands as a tourist product on the rise, as, for example, Band of Jangadeiro, in Manaus Center. Last year, several tourists who disembarked from a cruise were in the band. For this, we have worked in partnership with the organs of security to ensure peace of mind to revelers ", says Bernardo Monteiro de Paula, President of Manauscult.

12h: Band Of Virgins - West Zone – Vicente Torres Street Kings with Dom João de Souza Lima
14h: Banda do Manoa – North Zone – Rua Araraquara
16h: Block of Trombas Girls – North Zone – Of. Carvalo fish
16h: Block Jaqueira - North Zone – Of. Our Lady of Fatima
19h: Educandos Carnival - South Zone – Amarelinho area, the two Inocencio de Araújo and Boulevard Rio Negro
