Anvisa prohibits selling paçoca for high carcinogen content

The ban applies to the entire national territory.

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) interdicted on Monday (20), a lot of paçoca stopper brand Dicel, produced in Goiânia (GO). Interdicted products exceeded the allowed limit of aflatoxins, toxic substances produced by fungi that can cause cancer.

According to the resolution, or lot 0027, made in 18 November last year, valid until 18 November this year, I was unfit for consumption. Food is distributed by Industry and Logistics Westhonklauss Constant Ltda.

The report of Mycotoxicologic Analysis Laboratory, in Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul, vouched aflatoxin levels above the maximum tolerated limit for peanuts in shell, peeled, raw or tostado, peanut butter or peanut butter.

By email, the company said it received with surprise the information that one of Dicel products is out of compliance and has not been notified by Anvisa. A Dicel reports, still, to press for the quality of its product line and follow the appropriate guidelines Anvisa.
