Amazon receives new vehicles to transport inmates of the prison system

The new vehicles will be distributed among seven prisons in the capital

The State Department of Penitentiary Administration (SEAP) He received seven new vehicles from the National Penitentiary Department (Depen), the Ministry of Justice and Citizenship, to be used by Amazon prison system for performing legal escorts for audiences, funeral and medical care. The presentation of the vehicles was made on Wednesday (12), the Provisional Detention Center Male (CDPM).

The ceremony was attended by The Secretary of State for Prison Administration, Lieutenant Colonel of the Military Police, Cleitman Coelho; the Executive Secretary, Lieutenant Colonel of the Military Police, Silvio Mouzinho; coordinator of the penitentiary system, Major Military Police, Lima Junior; regional manager of Umanizzare Prison Management, Kleuton Silva; and directors of prisons, who participated in the symbolic act of delivery of vehicles to the units of the interim regimes and closed the capital.

Cleitman stressed that cell-vans - having monitoring technology for cameras and internal communicators - will give more support the escorts carried out by prisons, that they have a large influx of requests, especially for audiences. "These vehicles will help us to respond to the judiciary with respect to the pent-up demand that now exists regarding the presentation of the internal court hearings. The vehicles will meet in the capital and in the metropolitan area ".

In addition to the seven vehicles received as donations, SEAP will acquire, still this year, more 13 vans-cell and two trucks with funds from the National Penitentiary Fund (Funpen) for capital improvement projects in the Amazon prison system. The federal funding is a partnership with all States of the Federation for the construction of new facilities and acquisition of new security and surveillance equipment.

"This is the first batch of delivery, but we are already in the bidding process of technological equipment and furniture for the prison system. We are also in licitatória stage for contracting companies that will build two prisons, one in Manacapuru and another in Parintins, municipalities that serve as poles to accommodate prisoners adjacent counties. The package also includes equipment for magazine and supervision which have the objective of identifying and curbing illicit objects. All this investment is included in the R $ resource 50 million that the Amazon received from FUNPEN ", said Secretary Cleitman Coelho.
