Eletrobras announces investment in the Electric System of the Amazon

On Monday (24), Distribution Eletrobras Amazonas presented the new vehicle fleet 38 live line trucks, 4 trucks double cabin for range of cleaning and care of the countryside, Besides 19 support vehicles. The event was held at the Club of the Association of Employees of Eletronorte - Aseel, located in the Tourism Avenue, tarumã, West Zone of Manaus.

This entire apparatus will be used by hired new teams in improving services in grid with technology investment in fiber medium voltage structures, clearing trees nearby cables and poles, preventive maintenance and easement cleaning distribution networks of electricity energized.

The investment for the acquisition of new vehicles and hiring of new employees was R $ 33,5 millions. Strengthening the teams will benefit the capital and the metropolitan area, bringing more flexibility and reliability in meeting occurrences.

The CEO of Eletrobras Amazonas Distribution, Francisco Romário, He talked about the strengthening of the teams and investment in the Amazon. "The live line trucks perform maintenance services without the need to disconnect the power grid, which will significantly reduce the levels of duration of Interruptions per Consumer Unit (DEC) and Frequency of Interruptions per Consumer Unit (FEC), as determined by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). This reinforcement of the new teams will also help fight energy losses ", said.

"For investments, Expansion Plan of Distribution Eletrobras Amazonas 2015/2020, foresees investments of R $ 6 billion, currently about approximately R $ 2 billion has been invested in the electricity sector in the State: New Plant Maua 3, new substations and existing extensions, improvements in the distribution lines and the Program "Light for All" will be invested around R $ 192 millions, representing a major achievement in regard to rural electrification, citizenship and opportunity to improve income for our brothers in the interior of Amazonas ", said Francisco Romário.

According to Director of Operations, Planning and Expansion, Paulo Maciel, This enhancement aims to improve power distribution quality. "The new teams will bring greater speed in meeting occurrences. With the new fleet activity, the population will see this gradual improvement in electricity supply ", strengthened.

"Before realizávamos near 3 thousand preventive services per year in the structures of our posts. With this reinforcement, we will increase up to 60 thousand cases annually, with the substitution of wood fiber structures crossheads, besides clearing the grid, by pruning tree branches causing power outages ", added Paulo Maciel.

"The process of construction of two new substations, Call Center District 3, in 138 kV with an investment of about R $ 110 millions, It is in the final stage of the bidding process, and five substations will be expanded, with contracted investment of R $ 50 million becoming more reliable operating system ", reaffirmed.
