Police incinerates over 3 tons of drugs seized in the Amazon

About nine tons of drugs were seized during operations this year 2017.

The Federal Police's Amazon incinerated 3,6 tons of drugs on Saturday morning (21), in a factory of the Industrial District II, East Zone of Manaus. The material was seized in the capital and in the State.

Incineration was carried out by the Police Narcotics Suppression of (DRE), the Amazonas Federal Police. The destroyed drugs are cocaine and marijuana skunk type.

This was the second incineration by the Federal Police. In this year, the first, in February, destroyed 3,8 kilos of drugs. The delegate said the forward much of the drug was seized mainly in the Solimoes and Negro rivers during inspections and operations conducted by the Police Narcotics Enforcement. “Most of the drug was produced in Peru and Colombia”, said.

The delegate said that the peculiarity of the State, especially in the triple border, facilitates entry of drugs. however, PF has increasingly intensified repression and research, which results in the number of major seizures every year. "Last year we seized between six and seven kilos, this year, we are almost nine in October, we will probably reach ten tons by the end of the year ".
