Consumers who buy mobile phones not certified from May next year will have their locked handsets. The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) It decided that the new fake cell will be blocked, according to a schedule approved on Thursday, 23, by the regulatory agency.

Cellular approved by Anatel are those with IMEI (Internacional Mobile Equipment Identity), a number that has the same function as the chassis of an automobile. Each cell has a unique identification number and global.

To find out if the phone has IMEI and is regular, just dial *#06#. If no number appears, or if the number that appears is different from what appears on the instrument housing, the phone is fake.
