By 40 votes in favor and 13 Against, the full Senate approved on Tuesday (21) the mixed district vote for the proportional elections, that is, councilors and MPs (federal, state and district). Now the matter will go to the House.

Approved ideas are José Serra and Eunício Oliveira, current chairman of the House, who did what he could to realize this vote.

According to the proposal, the voter will make two choices in the ballot box: the candidate of his respective district and the party of your choice. The chairs of the Legislative Houses will first be filled by candidates elected by district vote. Exhausted these vacancies, the remaining seats will be distributed among candidates of the highest-voted parties.

please note that, even if the deputies validate the projects without changes, they will not stand for election 2018.
