The beneficiaries of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) who have not yet living proof must perform the procedure until next Wednesday (28), under penalty of having the payment stopped. No need to go to the agencies of Social Security. The procedure is done directly in the bank where the beneficiary receives the money, upon presentation of photo ID document. The banks are responsible for the convening of the insured.
The deadline for attendance of people would end in 31 December last year, but, because of the number of beneficiaries who did not undergo the procedure 2017, the term was extended to 28 February this year. Of the more than 34 million beneficiaries of the institute, almost 32 millions have done the proof of life. By the beginning of February, 3,2 million beneficiaries had not attended to the paying banks to their benefit.
Beneficiaries who can not go to the banks because of illness or walking difficulties can make a proof of life through a registered attorney in the INSS.
