Health plans are part of the sector that received consumer complaints directed to the service of the Brazilian Institute of Consumer Defense (Idec). According to the survey released today (12), contacts related to health insurance companies totaled 23,4% of the total in 2017. The sector is at the top of the rankings for the third consecutive year, accounting for 28,06% complaints in 2016 and 32,7% in 2015.

According Idec, most consumer complaints is about the abusive adjustment plans, especially business and collective. Besides that, It has troubled users negative coverage and lack of information on plans.

Idec received in 2017 a total of 3,8 thousand calls with complaints and questions.

Second in the ranking of complaints were complaints concerning the purchase of products, with 17,8%. The sector overtook the financial services industry, who finished third in the survey this year, with 16,7%, but had occupied the second position of the complaints in the previous two years. Most of the problems are related to problems with credit card, current accounts and personal loans. Regarding the purchase of products, most of the complaints had to do with defects and noncompliance in offers.

Telecommunications services, including mobile and fixed telephony and pay TV, They were as the most challenging quarter in contacts with Idec. Do total, 15,8% links were motivated by the relationship with these companies. Pay-TV is the biggest source of complaints, followed by problems with telephone and Internet.
