Prosecutor hear John of God

The medium goiano John Teixeira Faria, John of God, provide new evidence to the prosecutor of Goias (MP-GO) this afternoon (14). It will be heard, for the second time, by promoters that make up the task force set up to investigate sexual crimes charges attributed to the medium by women who frequented the Casa Dom Inacio de Loyola, in Abadiânia (GO).

The forecast is that prosecutors listen to John of God himself in the Prison Complex Custody Center of Aparecida de Goiânia, in the metropolitan region of state capital, where the medium is being held in preventive since the day 16 from December.

By paying his first statement to MP, in 26 from December, John of God denied sexually assaulting denizens of downtown. According to their lawyers, he claimed never to have been alone with the faithful who sought spiritual help and did not recognize three of the whistleblowers who sought the MP-GO.

The determination of the prosecution has already resulted in a first complaint against the medium, accused by vulnerable crimes of rape and sexual violation. The state court accepted the complaint on 9 from January, keeping it in Prison Complex.

The defense of the medium came to appeal to the Supreme Court (STF), in 20 from December, in order to get a habeas corpus that would allow, if necessary, respond to the process under house arrest. However, last Friday (11), the defense filed an application for habeas corpus withdrawal.

According to the lawyer Antonio Carlos de Almeida Castro, the kakay, the withdrawal is a procedural strategy. According to him, the defense will wait for the judgment of another habeas corpus filed with the Justice of Goiás, who returned to the activities this week, after the end of year break.
