Mourao going to Colombia to discuss the crisis in Venezuela

Day meeting will be 25 with the presence of regional leaders.

The vice-president, Hamilton Mourão, will go to Colombia next Monday (25) represent Brazil in Lima Group (gathering 14 countries), at a meeting in Bogota, led by Colombian President, Ivan Duque, and which will also be present the US vice president, Mike Pence.

Mourao confirmed his presence at the meeting in a message posted on the personal Twitter account. According to him, He was appointed by President Jair Bolsonaro to attend the meeting in Bogota, capital of Colombia. The spokesman of the Presidency, Otavio do Rego Barros, confirmed that the Foreign Minister, Eenesto Araújo, attend the meeting on 25.

The meeting comes just days after the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, announcing the closure of the border with Brazil, expected to take place this evening (21).

With the border closed, increases the difficulty for humanitarian aid transfer, organized by Brazil, to set up two distribution centers in Boa Vista and Pacaraima, Roraima.
