President Jair Bolsonaro authorized the opening of the first university in its mandate. Late on Monday (8), Bolsonaro signed the law establishing the Northern Federal University of Tocantins (UFNT), based in Araguaína.
The result is UFNT campus dismemberment of the Federal University of Tocantins.

The creation of UFNT was approved in Congress on 12 June this year. After approval, Senator Katia Abreu, who was rapporteur of the project in the Constitution Committee, Justice and Citizenship (CCJ), He said the teaching unit will be important not only for the youth of Tocantins, but will meet students from southern Maranhão, Piauí and Pará.
The UFNT currently has approximately 20 thousand students and offers about 50 classroom courses undergraduate divided between undergraduate, bachelor and technological training.
