The Mayor of Manaus, Arthur Virgilio Neto, He met with educators to sign on Friday, 12/7, the "Pact of Educational Goals", which aims to raise the quality of teaching and learning process in public schools. The event took place in the amphitheater of the Municipal Park Mindu, in Park neighborhood 10 from November, Centro-Sul.
The action is held annually by the city and is also aimed at agreeing on the fulfillment of targets set between Semed and schools, and the development of plans and activities to ensure the advancement of learning over 240 thousand students network, as children in age from kindergarten to seniors of the Youth and Adult Education (COME).

“Our covenant is including salary, as it reflects the distribution of the Basic Education Development Fund, FUNDEB, for who reach higher notes will be entitled to 14 month salary, the call to honor merit. I just have to thank the teachers, for all that they did. We are the ninth in Ideb and we want to go higher. They help us to work, daily, so that our education is recognized as one of the best in Brazil. We are winning and we will win on behalf of our children, who are the future of Manaus”, said the mayor, which was accompanied to the event of the first lady and president Solidarity Fund Manaus, Elisabeth Ribeiro.
The quality management work, implemented by the Municipal Education (semed), in the last years, search the planning and execution of actions to improve, progressively, education in Manaus and, by extension, raise the quantitative and qualitative indices of student learning. Among the results achieved is the 9th place in Ideb, among Brazilian capital, a reduction of more than 70% dropout and improvements in literacy rates.
For 2019, They are among the global goals of the city to basic education the advancement of note 5,8 for 6,4 in Early Years of Ideb and 4,7 for 5,2 in Final Years, to raise ranking position among the Brazilian capitals.
The secretariat of Semad, Katya Schweickardt, He pointed out that the city also has bold goals for literacy of students. In 2019, the intention is to alphabetize 66% students, still in the 1st year of primary school, e 76% by the end of 2nd year. this goal, that is progressive, reaches 100% in 2021.
“Behind these goals is a commitment to quality work. We are a resume of the follow-up work, pedagogical advice, regarding methodologies, teacher training and reinforcement in students.
