After the Supreme Court's decision, judge orders release former President Lula

Decision was taken under 24 hours after the Supreme Court rules, by 6 votes to 5, no one can be considered guilty until the processes in transit judged.

The Federal Court ruled in Curitiba just the release of former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, which is imprisoned since 7 April last year, the Superintendency of the Federal Police (PF) in Curitiba, the conviction in the case of the triplex of Guaruja (SP), Operation of the jet wash processes.

The decision was handed down by Judge Danilo Pereira Junior, after Lula's defense call for the release of former President based on the decision given yesterday (7) the Supreme Court (STF), that overthrew the validity of the provisional execution of criminal convictions, known as prison after the second instance.

The release warrant was sent to the PF. The expectation is that Lula still leave the prison on Friday.

In January last year, Lula's conviction, court decision by then-Judge Sergio Moro, It was confirmed and the penalty increased by the Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region (TRF4), second instance of the Federal Court, for 12 years and one month in prison – eight years and four months for the crime of bribery and three years and nine months for money laundering.

In April this year, worth of corruption has been reduced by the Superior Court of Justice (STJ) for five years and six months, while the washing was three years and four months, resulting in eight years and ten months late.

Besides Lula, the Supreme Court decision will benefit others convicted in Lava Jet, as former MPs Eduardo Cunha, José Dirceu, beyond and former executives of contractors.
