Carrefour SA announced yesterday the purchase in Brazil 30 shops and 14 stations operated by fuel Makro, including the two chain stores in the Amazon, for a maximum total of 1,953 billion reais, according to the relevant fact. Between the 30 stores, 22 They are own-eight, leased.
In Manaus there are two units of Makro group and the city also already has two units of Atacadão, one on the avenue Autaz Mirim, East zone, and another in Max Teixeira, North Zone.
The Group Carrefour Brazil also said that plans to convert the banner of the new stores for the period Atacadão 12 months after closing of the transaction, and expects sales to increase by more than 60% and that the cost structure is optimized.
According to the relevant fact, as 30 stores, totaling 165.000 m² of sales area, presented in 2019 gross sales of approximately 2,8 billion reais and have large geographic complementarity with existing stores Atacadão.
"The transaction will allow the Atacadão expand its presence particularly in the densely populated state of Rio de Janeiro (7 stores) and in the Northeast (8 stores). The new stores are added to 187 existing stores Atacadão to continue its strong organic growth ", said Carrefour Brazil Group.
According to the relevant fact, completion of the transaction is subject to satisfaction of certain conditions, including, especially, the agreement of the owners of rented shops and the approval of the Economic Defense Administrative Council (Cade).
